As a visitor, you will have an impact on the environment and culture of the place you are visiting. Here are some rules of thumb to make this impact positive! In order to preserve this beautiful natural gem of Plaridel, we need to maintain its natural habitat. Please be respectful of our do’s & don’t’s whilst visiting the island.
Bawbawon Beach Resort is an eco-friendly beach resort where we promote sustainable tourism wherever possible.
Do's
- Do refrain from harming any plant or animal life during your stay on the island.
- Do use bottles, straws, cups, and cutleries made from eco-friendly materials.
- Do avoid noise pollution, reduce loud music on the resort.
- Do wear appropriate swimwear or beach attire.
- Do use and opt for biodegradable sunscreen.
- Do help and support local communities’ unique natural and cultural heritage.
- Do respect people’s privacy, ask for prior permission before taking a photograph.
- Do carry back all non-degradable litter such as empty bottles, tins, plastic bags etc.
- Do support local economy, buy eco-friendly products made from native-crafted art or woven goods.
DON'TS
- Don’t remove flora and fauna in any form such as cutting or taking away of seeds or roots.
- Don’t use any kind of detergents, chemicals or pollutants while taking a shower.
- Don’t pick up starfish nor touch coral reefs
- Don’t feed the fish, or any other marine creature
- Don’t throw tissue paper down the toilets
- Don’t leave cigarettes butts or make open fires.
- Don’t use or litter plastics or any non biodegradable items.
- Don’t dispose any food trash on the island, we have a designated trash bins for proper waste disposal.
